building alliances

Saibl emphasizes the importance of undertaking its work in the framework of an alliance network. Underlying this principle are the objectives of leveraging resources and institutionalizing the program to create sustainability.

To this end, saibl is establishing the South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC) as a national network alliance among Corporate South Africa; first- and second-tier suppliers; BEE small, medium-sized, and large enterprises; BSPs; economic cluster departments led by the dti; and other stakeholders.

knowledge management and sharing

All too often, business projects close without leaving behind a method of sharing information - a great deal of valuable knowledge and lessons learnt being lost in the process.

The lack of an institutional framework and knowledge management and sharing platform on which to continue the network and links also results in partners and stakeholder losing contact, and the unraveling of seemingly sound and valuable relations.

saibl is developing a web-based knowledge management and sharing platform, SASDCnet, that will enable the network partners and saibl to leverage knowledge and increase the dissemination of experiences and best practices. This presents an innovative and sound approach to establishing, managing and utilizing a Knowledge Management System, to capture significant data, analyze information, and disseminate and share information and results with stakeholders.

The main data capture platform utilized by saibl is the Technical and Administrative Management Information System (TAMIS). This system is used to measure progress toward saibl goals and objectives and to provide the information required by USAID and all consortium partners to support reporting, knowledge management, and knowledge sharing.
